Community College Advancement Award

This award is designed to build stronger connections between NC State Engineering Education and NC Community Colleges faculty and staff via the 2026 ASEE Conference.

About the Community College Advancement Award in Engineering Education (C2A2E2)

This program will sponsor the participation of selected individuals in the 2026 American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Annual Conference & Exposition in Charlotte, NC, from June 21st–24th, 2026.

Award Details

Selected applicants will receive full conference registration for the 2026 ASEE Conference, a value of approximately $945.

Recipients will also receive:  

  • Guidance through the ASEE conference tailored to their interests
  • Invitations to all NC State and Engineering Education specific events, including the Annual NC State ASEE Reception
  • Direct opportunities to connect with engineering education researchers and practitioners

Please Note: The C2A2E2 only covers the ASEE conference registration fee. We are unable to provide financial support for travel, lodging/accommodation, meals, or any other expenses associated with attending the conference. Participants must secure their own funding for these costs.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be currently employed as faculty or staff at a North Carolina community college 
  • Demonstrate a clear interest in both the research and practice of engineering education 
  • Be interested in future enrollment in one of the following NC State programs, as this is the primary focus of the recruitment initiative
    • Master of Science in Engineering Education 
    • Graduate Certificate in Engineering Education 

How to Apply

Applications for the C2A2E2 are due by May 15, 2026 and should be submitted via the C2A2E2 Application Submission Form. The submission should include a personal statement from the applicant that includes the following:

  • Your current role and primary teaching and administrative responsibilities 
  • Why you are interested in the field of engineering education research and/or attending ASEE
  • Specifically, how the NC State M.S. in Engineering Education or Graduate Certificate would support your long-term career goals
