Dr. Reynolds has twenty years of industry experience working for such notable companies as General Motors, IBM and Lenovo in a variety of capacities including Quality Engineering, System Assurance, Product Development and Project Management.  He is a certified PMP© Project Management Professional and American Society for Quality (ASQ) Six Sigma Green Belt.  

Dr. Reynolds has studied in several countries including Ghana, South Africa, Malawi and Argentina and has previously led study abroad/international student recruitment programs in Cuba and Honduras. Dr. Reynolds global educational experience is further highlighted by his work as a graduate intern at the United States Department of State where he was assigned to the political and economic sections of the US Embassy in Lilongwe, Malawi. He has also worked as a graduate researcher at The Carter Center in Atlanta, Georgia where he was responsible for political and human rights issues in Malawi and Sudan as well as monitoring compliance with United Nations treaties and international elections standards. Dr. Reynolds served as an International Election Observer for The Carter Center in Mahdia, Guyana as a part of the 2015 Parliamentary and Presidential election cycle in the country.

Dr. Reynolds currently serves as Director of Undergraduate Programs and Associate Teaching Professor in the Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering.  In this capacity, he is responsible for advising, academic initiatives and support programs for over 360 undergraduate students in one of top programs in the discipline.  

In addition to his faculty/staff role, Dr. Reynolds has served as a Park Faculty Scholar for the Park Scholarships Classes of 2023 and 2024, Chair – University Courses & Curriculum Committee and Subcommittee Chair – NCAA Legislation for the Faculty Council on Athletics.  He currently co-leads summer study abroad programs to Rwanda (Engineering Education) as well as to the United Kingdom (STEM/Liberal Studies) and has helped develop internship components and other short-term global educational experiences.  

Dr. Reynolds has mentored two Fulbright Scholars, three Benjamin A. Gilman Scholars and a Payne Fellow. During Summer 2024, Dr. Reynolds was selected for the Fulbright-Hays Program sponsored by the US Department of State and US Department of Education and spent a month in Colombia visiting universities to build sustainable partnerships.  

Dr. Reynolds academic interests include Engineering Leadership, STEM Study Abroad, Technology & Emerging Societies, Sustainable Development, and Underrepresented Students in STEM.  In addition to Industrial & Systems Engineering (ISE), Dr. Reynolds has taught in the Africana Studies (AFS), Engineering Education (EED), Engineering Management (EM) and University Honors (HON) academic programs at NC State.
